90-year-old driver slams into Los Gatos, California coffee shop in shocking high-speed crash caught on video
It was a Thanksgiving disaster in Northern California after a 90-year-old driver crashed a car through a coffee shop.
The high-speed crash happened just after 9 p.m. on Thursday in Los Gatos, and it was all caught on video.
Police say the driver was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters. He was then transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition.
"Last night I got a call and was here within minutes after the incident happened. I was just beside myself, just devastated with the destruction," said Terri Hope, the founder of Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company. "Normally, we are open with a hundred people in the space. There was not one person on the street or inside the building at the time it happened. We are just very grateful that no one was injured."
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, but officers say alcohol may have been a factor.
