AURORA, IL — Three women were shot on Christmas Day in Aurora, police said.
Officers were dispatched at about 8:08 p.m. to a residence in the 300 block of Sunset Avenue, just north of downtown Aurora, for a report of a shooting. Women, ages 34, 36 and 55, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for care, according to a Friday afternoon news release.
The preliminary investigation suggests the shooter was outside and shot into the house, hitting the three victims, spokesperson Jim Levicki told Patch. What prompted the shooting remains under investigation, he said.
No other injuries were reported.
Detectives from the Aurora Police Department's Investigations Bureau are investigating the shooting. Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 630-256-5500.
