2 teen boys shot while sitting in parked car in Brentwood, Suffolk County

Two teenage boys were injured in a shooting in Brentwood on Monday night while they were sitting inside a parked car.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. on Madison Avenue near Hewes Street.

Suffolk County police say three males were inside a parked vehicle when a second car, also carrying at least three males, pulled up in front of them.

According to detectives, one person from the second vehicle got out and opened fire on the first car.

A 15yearold boy was struck in the hand, and a 17yearold was shot in the leg.

The victims' vehicle reversed and sped away from the scene. The second vehicle fled in an unknown direction.

Police say the teens drove about two miles to a street in Bay Shore, where officers were called shortly afterward.

Both injured teens were taken to a local hospital and are expected to survive, as their injuries were described as non-lifethreatening.
