2 dead, 10-year-old girl hurt after man shoots estranged wife's family in Baldwin Park, deputies say

A shooting in Baldwin Park on Monday left two adults dead and a 10-year-old child in critical condition, investigators say. The suspect in the shooting was later found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff' Department responded to a home in the 12700 block of Royston Street just before 5 a.m. Monday for a call about a suspicious person and a possible dead person at the location.

When deputies arrived, they were contacted by three surviving victims outside, who told them an assault had unfolded and multiple people had been shot. When deputies made their way inside, they found three victims with gunshot wounds.

Two adult victims were pronounced dead at the scene. A 10-year-old girl was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The sheriff's department identified the deceased victims as 61-year-old Yulan Wang, and her husband, 61-year-old Qiufu Jiang. Two adult males and one male juvenile at the home were not injured.

Investigators quickly identified 35-year-old Qihao Jin as the suspect and learned that his estranged wife's family was the target of the attack. Deputies say he entered the home with a gun and shot the victims before fleeing the scene. His estranged wife was not home at the time.

Late Monday night, officers from the Anaheim Police Department found the suspect and his vehicle in the 100 block of Vermont Street in Anaheim. Jin was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
