16-year-old boy shot and killed in Corcoran, police say

An investigation is underway after police say a teenager was shot and killed in Corcoran.

Authorities say it happened on Tuesday at about 9:45 p.m. on Patterson near Dairy Avenue.

When police arrived, they found a 16-year-old with a gunshot wound in the chest area.

He was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities are still investigating what led up to the incident.

No suspect information has been released.
