1 killed in shooting on West Capitol Avenue in West Sacramento
One person has died after a shooting overnight in West Sacramento, according to the police department. Officers responded to the shooting around 1 a.m. in the area of West Capitol Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard. Officials said one person was found shot. They were taken to an area hospital, where they died from their injuries. Officials have not said what led up to the shooting or shared any suspect information. The victim has not yet been identified.The homicide is under investigation. Another shooting happened around two hours later on Essex Avenue. Police do not believe the two shootings are connected.
