1 dead in I-80 motorcycle crash near Crystal Springs exit, eastbound lanes shut down

One man is dead following a crash involving two motorcyclists and another vehicle on eastbound Interstate 80 Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The eastbound lanes of I-80 are shut down. CHP dispatch notes indicate the crash happened just after 3 p.m. Officials said no one else was injured in the collision.Caltrans said the crash occurred in a construction zone.Both lanes of I-80 were briefly closed before the westbound lanes reopened. As of 4:15 p.m., the eastbound lanes remained closed and CHP said traffic was being diverted off the Crystal Springs ramp.
