1 dead, 2 injured after vehicle hits pedestrians on Arden-Arcade crosswalk and sidewalk

One man was killed and another was injured after a vehicle struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk in Arden-Arcade and then drove onto a sidewalk, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers responded to the report of a pedestrian struck on Friday around 8:20 p.m. in the area of Fulton Avenue and Hurley Way. CHP said the vehicle was traveling on Fulton Avenue when it struck the first pedestrian in a marked crosswalk. The vehicle then traveled onto the sidewalk, where it struck another man. Officials said the man who was on the sidewalk died from his injuries. The man who was in the crosswalk was taken to an area hospital with major injuries. CHP said the driver was also taken to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unclear.Investigators are working to determine what led up to the crash.
