Around 4:45 p.m., officers responded to the report of a crash on Highway 49 near the South Yuba River overpass. CHP said it was raining in the area at the time of the crash, and speed and weather may have contributed to the vehicle traveling off the roadway and crashing 15 feet down an embankment. One adult and two children were inside the Tesla, officials said. One person died at the scene. It's not clear if that person was the adult or one of the children. The two others were taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, CHP said. The extent of their injuries is unknown.Because the car is off the roadway, traffic is not impacted, officials said.
