JOLIET, IL — A 23-year-old man from the Plainfield area will be kept in the Will County Jail for an indefinite time frame now after he tried to stab two family members in their kitchen for absolutely no apparent reason, Joliet police revealed. Isaac Prost was taken away in handcuffs at his family's home and he's being detained on two crimes of aggravated domestic battery, one crime of domestic battery and one aggravated battery.

Joliet police made the arrest on Monday night at the Prost household in the 4300 block of Carrington Lane, a Plainfield mailing address. At 8:10 p.m., the Joliet police learned of the domestic disturbance.

A 21-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds to his back, shoulder and hand, Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English notified Joliet Patch.

"A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was attacked without provocation by his sibling, Prost, who was armed with a kitchen knife," English pointed out.

He said that three additional family members sustained injuries when they attempted to intervene in the fight. Officers arrived and placed Prost into custody.

"There is no confirmed motive for the attack at this time," English announced.

As for Isaac Prost, he sustained a minor injury during the attack. His father, and the sibling who sustained stab wounds, were transported to St. Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department with non-life-threatening injuries, English noted.

Upon his release from the hospital, Prost was transported to the Joliet Police Department for processing and was then transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Will County Judge Derek Ewanic has ordered Prost to remain in the jail.
