The Omaha Police Department said they are investigating a woman's suspicious death as an apparent murder-suicide. Police were called to an apartment near 65th and Boyd streets around 6:30 p.m. Thursday for a death investigation. Officers believed Shauna Shook, 39, died under suspicious circumstances. Investigators said they quickly identified a person of interest, Benjamin Myers, 39, who was Shook's boyfriend. Investigators found Myers' vehicle in the parking lot of a Bellevue Walmart near 15th street and Highway 75 with the help of the OPD's ABLE-1 helicopter. That was around midnight Friday. The Bellevue Police Department said they found Myers inside the vehicle and believed he shot himself. Paramedics took Myers to a hospital, where he died.
