Niles shooting kills 1 in 8400-block of Greenwood; suspect in custody: police department
A suspect is in custody after a deadly shooting at a north suburban home on Thursday, police said.
Niles police said officers were notified about a shooting in the 8400-block of Greenwood at 5:40 p.m.
Officers responded to the scene, where they found a victim who had been shot, police said. The male victim, whose age was not immediately known, was pronounced dead.
A suspect is in custody. Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.
The Niles Police Department Investigations Division and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
