Charges filed against man who allegedly shot at troopers trying to serve a warrant

The Nebraska State Patrol said charges have been filed against the man, who allegedly shot at troopers on Wednesday. The incident happened around 6:40 a.m. Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol's Technical Crimes Unit were serving the warrant relating to a child sexual abuse images investigation at a Grand Island residence.PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Grand Island man arrested after allegedly shooting at Nebraska state troopers serving search warrantThe resident, who was identified as 43-year-old Justin Jelinek, was seen holding a shotgun, said NSP.According to troopers, Jelinek initially complied with troopers' commands to put down the gun, but he would not come out of the home. A news release from NSP said, Jelinek then fired at least one round toward troopers from a different firearm in another room of the residence. This resulted in one trooper returning fire, said NSP.No one was struck by gunfire during the incident.
