2 officers, 2 women injured in crash involving Philadelphia police vehicle in Hunting Park

A collision in Philadelphia's Hunting Park neighborhood sent two Philadelphia police officers and two women to the hospital.

The crash happened around 2:10 a.m. Friday at the intersection of North Reese Street and West Hunting Park Avenue.

Police say officers were looking for a domestic assault suspect when a Smart car crashed into the driver's side of the police SUV.

The officers' airbags deployed.

The Smart car had heavy front-end damage, with smashed glass on the windshield as well.

Everyone is being treated for minor injuries.

Investigators tell Action News that speed did not play a role in the crash and that the officers' car had no lights on at the time.
